Studies conducted by the World Health Organization’s, IARC has found that shifting and Fireman jobs have the highest risk factors when it comes to possibility of getting cancer. Though research is under way and the impact of the said study on employers and employees from all over the world the impact is still widely unaccepted and officially released. The study finds that Firemen who are of course subjected to more carcinogenic substances than normal people doe get a higher risk factor when cancer is considered. This might be due to their repetitive exposure to cancer-causing agents such as smoke which may contain dozens of lethal chemicals. The other side has people who work on shifting schedules also getting higher risks of the disease due to the imbalance caused by repetitive disruptions in their regular sleep patterns. There are and estimated 20% of the world’s workforce who undergo these types of high cancer risk-jobs but research is still under way as to why.
